    - Mechanisms influenced by exercise in PD. Physical exercise increases the level of neurotrophins in the brain. This upregulation decreases pro-apoptotic proteins, increasing autophagy, reducing neuroinflammation. In addition, exercise upregulates mitochondrial fission and fusion proteins, and increasing mtDNA copy number.
